DayBreak
Traditional Music for a New Day
shaddow

The musicians of DayBreak have been harmonizing together since at least 1990 in and around Lehigh and Bucks Counties of Pennsylvania. We enjoy applying our rich blend of acoustic instruments and voices to Celtic jigs, reels, hornpipes and ballads; American folk tunes and songs, folk hymns, original pieces, and seasonal songs. Our uniquely-woven sounds, as well as innovative arrangements, bring warmth and freshness to an uncommon range of traditional and current genres.

DayBreak includes:

Cliff Cole playing the hammered dulcimer, guitar, and percussion
Anna Lisa Yoder on the violin, viola, mandolin and bouzouki
Rob Yoder on concertina, guitar, bodhrán, harp and mountain dulcimer.
Trudy Yoder
on cello, guitar, bodhrán and mountain dulcimer
Emily Cole on tin whistle
Lydia Yoder on violin, mandolin, djembe and bodhrán
Seth Yoder on hammered dulcimer, piano, oboe, and accordion
Everyone lends their voice to a growing repertoire of winsome and compelling songs.

Where We Play

DayBreak has performed in various settings including The Bethlehem MusikFest, Longwood Gardens, Godfrey Daniels Coffeehouse, The Allentown Mayfair, Foy Hall at Moravian College, Celtic Classic, Perkasie Patchwork Coffeehouse, Kutztown Pennsylvania German Festival and at various clubs and churches.

Along with their five recordings, DayBreak supplies the soundtrack for Expressions of Common Hands, a Time-Warner folk art documentary. The group recently released its fifth and sixth recordings. Little Steps highlights their musical journey through the last several years, and LOST CAVE was a special project recorded inside Lost River Caverns in Hellertown, PA.

We are also experienced celebration musicians (weddings, anniversaries, etc.) with a repertoire ranging from folk to baroque, O'Carolan to Bach, Handel, and Pachelbel.
